The Plug Power Saver motor controller is designed for some of the heavier motor appliances at home such as a fridge, freezer, washer, dryer, or power tools. It senses the load 120 times each second and only sends as much current as the motor needs to carry that load. It also enables a "soft start", bringing the motor up to speed more gradually rather than suddenly. Both of these factors enable the motor to last 7 to 15 times longer, while cutting the energy used by as much as 30%.
